In Wine Spectator’s list of the 100 top wines 2021 there are 23 Italian labels: 3 from the Veneto region and 2 from Verona city; Custoza Superiore Cà del Magro 2019 is number 59 in the classification.

The last great news at the Monte del Frà winery refers to the Custoza Superiore Cà del Magro 2019 wine. It has been selected among the top 100 wines of 2021 by the Wine Spectator guide.

This is the most well-know wine for the Bonomo family. It represents a real expression of love and passion for the territory of origin: the morainic hills of Custoza. The three generations of the Bonomo family saw this company grown up so quick  since they started in 1958. Due to their remarkable efforts, they came up with Cà del Magro by the year 1989 and they have been able to interpretate the exceptional  nature of this wine: from the selection of the vineyards and grapes to the determination of a style that today is unique and recognized in more then 64 countries.

The quality of Cà del Magro start first with its grapes: Garganega, the main one, gives its structure, the Cortese grape dictates its aromas and the Manzoni Bianco donate longevity and breadth. The result is an elegant and well balanced wine to enjoy while having meal from light and summer food till winter risotto, pasta and chicken courses.

This wine that comes from vineyards of over fifty years old, located on a hill in the heart of Custoza village. The soil is extremely poor on this land and vineyards have to go deep with their roots in order to survive, giving us a such a great minerality able to transfor this wine into a challange with the time. At the cellar the family holds old vintages and tastings goes back of 10-12 years with big satisfation.

Cà del Magro has today become a real “citizen of the world”. Making itself known and appreciated for its identity and authenticity. Today this milestone is celebrated with satisfaction, but with the awareness of those who know the responsibility that derives from it.
