Although we love indulging in wine year-round, there’s something extra special about popping bottles beneath the summer sun. However, not all wines can beat the summer heat. The warm weather screams for something with fruit-forwardness, low tannins, and tons of thirst-quenching acid. Wines with high alcohol or high levels of tannin will certainly bog you down on scorching days.

At Estate Wine, we found ourselves reaching  for our great value wines from Italy. It’s hard to resist the marvelous acidity in many Italian wines that stems from the indigenously grown grape varieties. The best of the lot whet your appetite and remain light on their feet, making a good match for a variety of summer excursions and delicacies.

Satisfying Sparkling Wines

Italian Proseccos are clean, refreshing, and easy to drink. There’s never a bad time for a bottle of bubbly, and summer picnics, barbecues, and nights spent with a cold glass of sparkling are no exception.

Crisp White Wines

Italian whites check all of our boxes for summer sipping: they’re light yet rich, they’re crisp yet textured, and they’re unbelievably laden with acid. Enjoy alone under the sun or with fresh greens and seafood.
